Planning your port Blair to Baratang by Ferry

Port Blair-to-Baratang by sea is a different arrangement from a road journey with a short Middle Strait vehicle-ferry crossing. AWT’s reviewed Makruzz sample includes a via-Baratang Havelock itinerary; that does not establish a separately bookable Port Blair-to-Baratang ticket.

Confirm the itinerary you are buying

Request the exact date, vessel, boarding point, arrival point and ticket type for a sea journey to Baratang. Confirm whether it is a one-way transfer, a day package or part of a longer Havelock itinerary. Do not pay for a Havelock-bound itinerary assuming you may end the trip at an intermediate call.

If the plan includes caves, local boat transfers or sightseeing, request the inclusion list and permitted timing separately. The sea ticket does not by itself establish access, entry permissions or a return arrangement.

Sea itinerary versus Middle Strait crossing

The Middle Strait–Baratang vehicle-ferry link listed by DSS is part of a road journey. It is not a high-speed sea transfer from Port Blair to Havelock. Confirm the meeting point, transport mode and ticket issuer so the two products are not confused.

A road trip can involve separate access and timing requirements. Ask AWT to review the complete land itinerary and current official instructions instead of combining unrelated departure estimates.

Keep the full booking reviewable

Before payment, obtain the dated itinerary, all boarding points, intermediate activities, baggage arrangement, cancellation terms and final amount. Confirm the fallback if weather or operational conditions change.

For a through trip to Havelock, notify the hotel of the confirmed arrival. For a Baratang-only trip, confirm the return or onward land transfer; do not assume the same ferry can take you back that evening.

Questions before you travel

Does a via-Baratang Makruzz itinerary prove I can book only Port Blair to Baratang?

No. Ask for confirmation that the intermediate sector is sold separately, with the exact arrival point and fare. A through itinerary is not proof of a standalone ticket.
