Makruzz Premium class, Deluxe and Royal: which suits your trip?
The class offered depends on the vessel. Makruzz and Makruzz Gold have Premium, Deluxe and Royal seating; the published Makruzz Pearl layout has Premium only. A class name does not guarantee a particular window seat.
Choose Makruzz Premium class if the standard cabin meets your needs and you would rather keep more of your budget for your island stay. Compare Deluxe for additional legroom or Royal for its smaller cabin. An upgrade changes the cabin experience, not the route or scheduled arrival of that vessel.
Premium — lower deck
Air-conditioned standard seating with front or side views depending on the assigned seat. This is the practical value option, with convenient access to the snack kiosk.
Deluxe — upper deck
Reclining seating with extra legroom and an elevated view through the cabin windows. Passengers can use the kiosk on the lower deck.
Royal — upper deck
A private cabin with extendable push-back seats and footrests. The operator lists priority check-in and a charging point among Royal features. Check the assigned vessel when comparing classes.

Makruzz
280 passengers across two decks: 208 Premium seats, 64 Deluxe seats and 8 Royal seats. This is the original vessel in the published fleet.
Makruzz Gold
333 passengers across two decks: 262 Premium seats, 63 Deluxe seats and 8 Royal seats. It provides more capacity than the original Makruzz.
Makruzz Pearl
250 Premium seats on one passenger deck. Its published layout has no Deluxe or Royal class, so those classes should not be assumed for every Makruzz service.
Enclosed cabins, facilities and the snack kiosk
Makruzz ferries have fully enclosed, air-conditioned passenger spaces rather than an open passenger deck. Large tinted windows provide sea views while shielding passengers from direct sun, rain and spray. The view depends on the seat and vessel.
The lower-deck kiosk offers light snacks and beverages to passengers from all classes. Refreshments should not be assumed to be included in the ticket unless the selected fare explicitly says so.
- Onboard multimedia and the central announcement system provide information and entertainment during the crossing.
- Washrooms are available onboard. Follow crew directions when moving between decks, especially when the sea is rough.
- Inform AWT before booking if a traveller needs boarding assistance or has limited mobility, so operator arrangements can be checked.
- Watch the safety briefing and follow crew instructions. Cabin comfort does not remove the possibility of seasickness; sea conditions affect every sailing.
Makruzz seat selection and seating arrangement
The previous AWT booking guide described a seat-selection link opening 48 hours before departure and being sent through SMS or email. Seat allocation and the selection method can change with the operator and booking channel.
In the current AWT booking flow, use the seat map when it is offered for the selected sailing. If the operator allocates seats separately, follow the instructions supplied with your confirmed ticket. A preferred seat is subject to availability and operator confirmation.
Enter correct traveller names and contact details at checkout. Keep the registered email and mobile accessible, check messages before travel, and contact AWT if the expected seat instructions have not arrived. Book early when travelling together, but do not assume adjacent or window seats are guaranteed.
Before choosing Makruzz Premium seats, compare the correct vessel layout above: Makruzz Gold and Makruzz Pearl have different arrangements. For a group, check the actual allocation together rather than relying on a screenshot from another sailing. Ask AWT about the allocation process before paying if sitting together is essential.

Makruzz ferry price: ticket fares, port fees and infants
The payable fare depends on the route, vessel, class, date and available inventory. Compare the displayed results, then review the full amount, including applicable taxes, port fees and disclosed charges, before payment.
Makruzz’s published terms list infants under one year as non-chargeable and a peak-season supplement for 1 December–31 January. Enter every child’s correct age and confirm applicable supplements and port fees in the final booking total.
To compare a Makruzz ferry price fairly, use the same route, departure date and cabin class. A discounted Premium fare on one departure is not equivalent to a Royal ticket on another. Review the full passenger total and change conditions before deciding which Makruzz ticket offers the right value.

Makruzz boarding point, reporting time and cancellation policy
Makruzz asks passengers to report 60 minutes before departure with a printed ticket and valid photo ID. Its published check-in cutoff is 15 minutes before departure, and boarding closes 10 minutes before departure. Follow any earlier reporting instructions on your ticket.

Start a request from My AWT, select the travellers and review the exact charge and estimated refund before OTP confirmation. Where an operator needs manual action, AWT completes that step and records the status in your account.
Makruzz tickets are non-transferable, and its published terms do not allow name corrections. Check every name before payment. Rescheduling depends on availability and applicable charges; its terms state that a rescheduled ticket cannot subsequently be cancelled or refunded.
An operator-cancelled sailing is different from a voluntary cancellation. The operator’s published terms provide for a refund when it cancels for weather or operational reasons; contact AWT to confirm the applicable process or available alternative. Keep your PNR and ticket accessible offline.
Makruzz luggage and passenger assistance
Makruzz’s published terms allow 25 kg of registered baggage. Keep valuables and essential documents with you; large bags travel in the designated storage area. Unaccompanied baggage is not accepted.
Smoking, sharp objects and hazardous items are prohibited. Watch the safety demonstration and follow crew instructions. Request mobility or boarding assistance before travel so arrangements can be checked for your sailing.

Makruzz Port Blair to Havelock
For an arrival-day crossing, work backwards from the ferry reporting deadline. Allow for reaching the jetty and handling luggage before choosing a departure. If your arrival leaves a narrow margin, consider an overnight stay in Port Blair instead of relying on an immediate connection.
Havelock to Neil Island
Check your hotel checkout and jetty transfer before reserving the next sector. Keep essential items accessible during the crossing and coordinate the Neil Island pickup with the ferry arrival. Do not plan an activity to begin immediately when the vessel reaches the jetty.
Makruzz Havelock to Port Blair or Neil to Port Blair
Choose the return route from the island where you will actually stay the previous night. Check whether your selected sailing is direct and leave a buffer before onward travel. A ferry arrival time does not include disembarkation, baggage collection or the road transfer.
