Havelock Island (58 Kms. By Sea from Port Blair):
This island offers beautiful sandy beaches and lush green forest. Barren Island (139 Kms. by Sea from Port Blair) :
This is the only active volcano in India. This island is about 3 Kms. in crater of the volcano, about half km away from the shore. This island can be visited by special boats which are scheduled by the DSS weekly. Visit is restricted to on board vessels only. Landing ashore not allowed.

North Andaman
Mayabunder (242 Kms. by road from Port Blair).
This Island comes after Rangat, offers excellent scenic beauty & beautiful beaches. Beach at Avis Island (separate small Island travelled by local engine dingy), Karmatang beach and mangrove lined Creeks are the attractions for the tourists. This small Port Township offers immense scope for beach tourism.
Diglipur (328 Kms. by road from Port Blair)
Known as the ‘Rice Bowl of Andaman & Nicobar Islands’, reached after crossing Mayabunder. It provides a rare experience for eco-friendly tourists. Saddle Peak (732 Mtrs.) the highest point in the Islands is located near to Diglipur & excellent for trekking. Kalpong, the only river of Andaman flows from here. Ross & Smith, the twin Islands joined by a bewitching sand bar, is travelled from Diglipur by engine dingy. One who prefers to be away from the hustle and humdrum of urban life must come here to enjoy unhurried holidays. |
