Planning your chatham Jetty

Chatham serves harbour and vehicle-ferry journeys, including the Bambooflat connection. This is a different service from a private Havelock or Neil catamaran. Confirm whether you need a passenger ticket, vehicle ticket or both for the crossing.

Chatham, Bambooflat and Dundus Point

The DSS service charter identifies harbour and vehicle links from Chatham to Bambooflat and Dundus Point. Use the current harbour timetable for the intended crossing, not a private operator’s island schedule.

The Chatham area also has visitor attractions, but sightseeing access does not establish a ferry departure or permission to enter a controlled boarding area. Keep the ferry and attraction arrangements separate.

Travelling with a vehicle

Ask the driver or operator to confirm the vehicle category and ticket arrangements. Allow time for queues, loading and unloading. A passenger-only ticket should not be assumed to include a car.

If the crossing is part of a road itinerary, plan the onward drive and return as well. Avoid setting a tight appointment immediately after an estimated crossing; queue time can matter more than the time on the water.

Use the official harbour ticket channel

Check STARS and DSS counter instructions for daily tickets or passes. Keep the valid ticket available for boarding; eligibility and concession rules belong to DSS.

Is a Chatham–Bambooflat ferry the same as a Port Blair–Havelock ferry?

No. It is a harbour crossing with its own ticket and service arrangements. Book the inter-island Havelock journey separately.
